Overview

FAW-Volkswagen has completed certification of the ID.Aura T6, a mid-size electric crossover and the first model in a new ID.Aura family. Volkswagen plans to bring it to market in China before the end of 2026.

The T6 measures 4,811 mm long, 1,879 mm wide, and 1,648 mm tall on a 2,836 mm wheelbase, noticeably larger than the European-market ID.4. It rides on the China Electronic Architecture, an 800V platform Volkswagen co-developed with Xpeng, and shares its underpinnings with the larger ID.Unyx 08.

A filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology lists a single-motor version rated at 170 kW (231 hp) driving the front axle, with top speed limited to 180 km/h. Battery capacity and range haven’t been disclosed yet.

An extended driver-assistance package with a roof-mounted lidar unit, co-developed with Coretronic and Horizon Robotics, will be offered as a paid option. Volkswagen has confirmed a five-seat interior. Pricing has not been announced.
