Overview

The SkyNomad N70 is the smaller of Xiaomi’s two new range-extended SUVs, pre-sold in China from July 30, 2026 alongside its larger sibling the N90. Xiaomi opened pre-sales at 259,900 yuan (about $38,410) for the top Max trim, with a full launch and firm pricing across the range set for September 2026.

Powertrain: The N70 Max uses the same dual-motor EREV layout as the N90 - a 210 kW front motor and 100 kW rear motor for a combined 310 kW (416 hp) and all-wheel drive - paired with a 76 kWh ternary-lithium battery. A 1.5-litre engine (Xiaomi cites over 44% thermal efficiency) never drives the wheels; it runs purely as a generator once the battery is depleted. CLTC figures are 505 km of electric-only range at 15.85 kWh/100km consumption, and 1,461 km combined.

Size and positioning: At 4,960mm long on a 2,950mm wheelbase, the N70 is a five-seat SUV, smaller than the three-row N90. Despite sharing the N90’s battery and motor hardware, its lighter body gives it more electric range than its bigger sibling - an unusual case where the cheaper model in a lineup out-ranges the flagship.

Pricing and trims: Only the Max trim is currently priced. Xiaomi has said Pro and standard versions will follow later, with other reporting pointing to a rear-wheel-drive base option and a smaller 52 kWh battery choice, though neither the specs nor prices for those trims have been confirmed.

Does the Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 really have the longest electric range of any EREV?
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has claimed the N70 Max has the longest pure-electric range among production range-extended vehicles, citing its 505 km CLTC figure against rival EREVs running 63-80 kWh batteries for 500 km or less. It's a real result on the CLTC cycle and a narrow one - the N70's advantage comes from pairing the same 76 kWh battery as the larger N90 with a lighter, smaller body, not from a fundamentally different powertrain.
How does the SkyNomad N70 differ from the N90?
The N70 is the shorter sibling at 4,960x1,998x1,785mm on a 2,950mm wheelbase, versus the N90's 5,285x1,998x1,825mm on a 3,080mm wheelbase. Both share the same top-spec dual-motor AWD powertrain and 76 kWh battery, but the N70's smaller size gives it more CLTC electric range (505 km vs 464 km) and it's offered only as a five-seater, while the N90 adds a seven-seat layout. Xiaomi has also priced the N70 lower - 259,900 yuan for the Max trim against 299,900 yuan for the N90 Max.
What other SkyNomad N70 trims are coming?
The Max trim - dual-motor AWD, 310 kW combined, 76 kWh battery - is the only version currently priced, through pre-sales that opened July 30, 2026. Xiaomi has said Pro and standard versions will follow, and other reporting points to a rear-wheel-drive base variant with a smaller 52 kWh battery option, though neither the specs nor pricing for those trims have been confirmed.
