Lexus revealed a facelifted NX on 1 September 2026, roughly midway through the second-generation model’s life since 2021. The visible changes are the small ones - a reworked grille, new lights - but Lexus put most of its effort into the chassis and the plug-in hybrid’s battery.
A chassis tuned at the Nürburgring
The floor gained about 25% more rigidity and the front suspension towers about 30%, paired with a new variable-ratio steering rack and dampers Lexus describes as ultra-low-velocity valve units. European-market cars were tuned at the Nürburgring, which the company says is a first for one of its models. The body itself grew only slightly, up 30 mm to 4,690 mm long, with width, height and wheelbase unchanged.
Two hybrids, one with a bigger battery
Europe keeps the same two-powertrain lineup as the outgoing car. The NX 350h self-charging hybrid produces 146 kW (199 hp) with front- or all-wheel drive; 0-100 km/h takes 7.3 to 7.7 seconds depending on the setup. The NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, all-wheel drive only, makes 226 kW (307 hp) and covers the same sprint in 6.1 seconds. Its battery grows to 23 kWh, up 30% over the previous car, and Lexus claims more than 100 km of WLTP electric range, a figure not yet officially homologated. The 450h+ also picks up DC fast charging for the first time on this model; 10 to 80% takes about 30 minutes.
Cabin controls move to a touchscreen
Inside, the driver display and the central touchscreen - 12.3 and 14 inches - now sit on one axis, and the physical climate dials are gone in favor of illuminated touch controls Lexus calls Responsive Hidden Switches. A new Sensory Concierge system, developed with fragrance house Givaudan, ties together lighting, climate, sound and cabin scent across three preset modes.
Pricing and availability
Lexus has not disclosed prices for the facelifted NX. European pre-sales open this autumn, with cars reaching dealers in early spring 2027, while the broader rollout to more than 90 countries and regions starts in late 2026. The Lexus lineup’s other current electrified SUV, the three-row TZ, remains a separate, larger model built on its own platform.
