Renault launched the Duster E-Tech 160 strong hybrid in India on 17 October 2026. A lakh is 100,000 rupees (~$1,000), so the Evolution, Techno and Emotion trims are priced from Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (~$17,700–20,300), ex-showroom. These are introductory prices that apply only to cars delivered by 31 December 2026, with first deliveries scheduled from 6 November.
Prices by trim
| Trim | Ex-showroom price |
|---|---|
| Evolution | Rs 16.99 lakh (~$17,700) |
| Techno | Rs 18.99 lakh (~$19,800) |
| Emotion | Rs 19.49 lakh (~$20,300) |
The hybrid is a later addition to the Indian Duster line-up. Renault India launched the turbo-petrol Duster on 17 March 2026 from Rs 10.49 lakh (~$10,900) and said then that the hybrid’s planned 2026 capacity was already fully allocated, with bookings to reopen ahead of deliveries around Diwali. Bookings for the E-Tech 160 reopened with a Rs 21,000 (~$200) reservation, and Renault has said R-Pass owners get delivery priority.
Powertrain and claimed economy
The E-Tech 160 system pairs a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, for a combined 157.8 hp. The motors produce 208 Nm of peak torque between them. The automatic transmission has two electric and four petrol gear ratios, which Renault says allow 15 drive combinations. The car does not plug in: the battery recharges from braking and from the engine.
Renault claims an ARAI-certified 29 km/l. An ARAI figure comes from a test cycle, so economy in daily driving will vary. Renault also says electric drive can cover up to 80 per cent of city driving. It quotes 0-100 km/h in 9.61 seconds and 80-120 km/h in 10.6 seconds, both measured with the air conditioning off. The battery carries a warranty of eight years or 160,000 km.
Europe sells the Duster under the Dacia badge, also with a 1.8-litre full-hybrid option; that car is covered on the Dacia Duster page.
