ChinaXiaomi’s Skynomad N70 and N90 EREV SUVs began deliveries in China on September 13, 2026, and both carry the “Dragonscale” battery pack Xiaomi revealed alongside their September 7 launch - developed with cell suppliers CALB and Sunwoda, and backed by a guarantee that goes further than a standard battery warranty.
What the guarantee actually covers
If a Dragonscale pack self-ignites from a manufacturing defect, Xiaomi will replace the car outright with one of the same specification and trim. If the battery instead catches fire after a collision or underbody damage, Xiaomi pays the difference between the insurance payout and the car’s pre-loss market value, rather than replacing the car. Both terms apply only to the first, non-commercial owner - rideshare, rental and used cars are excluded - and require an active Xiaomi connected-services subscription plus servicing at an official Xiaomi center.
The engineering behind it
Xiaomi says the pack uses high-voltage isolators that sever its high-current connections within milliseconds, alongside a cloud-based battery management system that samples cell data ten times more often than the national standard requires. In a 55-degree Celsius full-charge test, Xiaomi says a single cell’s failure did not spread to the rest of the pack. None of this is independently verified; it is Xiaomi’s own account of its own testing.
Both cars are already on sale: the N70 from 259,900 yuan (about $38,410) and the N90 from 299,900 yuan (about $44,570) for their top Max trims, after pre-sales opened in July.

Xiaomi's first SkyNomad-brand SUV, a full-size three-row EREV built around cabin space rather than driving dynamics, pre-sold in China at 299,900 yuan for the top Max trim. Dual motors make 416 hp combined, a 76 kWh CALB battery gives 464 km of CLTC electric range, and a 1.5-litre engine works purely as a generator.
