The SkyNomad N90 is Xiaomi’s first full-size SUV and the flagship of its SkyNomad line, a set of range-extended family SUVs that break from the driver-focused pitch of the SU7 and YU7. Before Xiaomi named it in July 2026 it was widely reported as the YU9. Where the SU7 and YU7 lead with lap times, the N90 leads with cabin space, aimed at buyers cross-shopping Li Auto and Aito’s range-extended SUVs.
Powertrain: The N90 is an EREV, meaning its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (112 kW) never drives the wheels - it runs purely as a generator once the battery is depleted. Two motors, 210 kW front and 100 kW rear, give a combined 310 kW (416 hp), all-wheel drive and 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The battery is a 76 kWh ternary-lithium (NMC) pack, good for 464 km of CLTC electric-only range and 1,705 km combined, and it charges from 20% to 80% in 18 minutes.
Size and seating: At 5,285 mm long on a 3,080 mm wheelbase, the N90 is a full-size three-row SUV. The Max seats seven in a 2+2+3 layout. The shorter N70 is the five-seat sibling.
Explorer Edition: The Max Explorer Edition adds an electric pop-up roof that turns the car into a camper, with up to 2.29 m of standing height, a second row that folds into a 1.87 x 1.24 m bed and underfloor heating. It seats five, and its combined range drops to 1,688 km.
Pricing and availability: Xiaomi opened pre-sales on July 30, 2026 at 299,900 yuan (~$44,600) for the N90 Max, then launched it on September 7 at 269,900 yuan (~$40,100), 30,000 yuan (~$4,500) lower. The Explorer Edition is 299,900 yuan (~$44,600). Deliveries of the seven-seat Max began in China in September 2026; the Explorer Edition follows from November-December.
