Xpeng is set to launch the Mona L03 in China on 2 July 2026, the second model from its value-focused Mona sub-brand and its first coupe-styled crossover. It slots a step above the Mona M03 liftback as a more affordable electrified SUV, and arrives as Xpeng pushes the lower-cost Mona line for higher volume.
The L03 measures 4650 mm long, 1920 mm wide and 1600 mm tall on a 2850 mm wheelbase, a compact crossover footprint, with a quoted kerb weight of 1855 to 1942 kg depending on version. It is offered with two electrified powertrains, both front-wheel drive and sharing the same 249 hp electric motor; there is no all-wheel-drive option. The battery-electric version uses a 56 or 69 kWh battery, with the larger pack quoted at up to 650 km of range on preliminary figures. The range-extender pairs a 37.2 kWh battery with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine of 95 hp that runs purely as a generator, charging the battery rather than turning the wheels.
The design is smooth and aerodynamic, with a clean nose, T-shaped front lighting, active air flaps in the bumper, a single full-width tail light bar, a panoramic glass roof and frameless doors with semi-hidden handles, in place of the pop-out handles used on the M03. The interior is minimalist, built around a large central touchscreen and a head-up display that stands in for a traditional instrument cluster, though promotional footage of higher trims shows a small driver screen as well.
Prices will be confirmed at the 2 July launch. On preliminary information the L03 is expected to start around 150,000 yuan (about $22,000), placing it above the cheaper M03 within the Mona range. Xpeng has not announced any markets for the Mona line outside China.
