The second model from Xpeng's value Mona sub-brand is a coupe-styled crossover sitting above the M03 liftback. Xpeng has put its flagship X9 electric MPV on sale across seven European countries simultaneously, from Germany to Iceland. The seven-seat MPV uses an 800V platform with up to 615 km of WLTP range and 5C charging, with German prices from 77,600 euros (about $89,200).
Xpeng's flagship six-seat SUV booked 25,000 paid orders within 12 hours of going on sale, with more than 80% of buyers choosing the top Ultra trim. Waiting times have stretched to eight months and Xpeng is restructuring production. The GX spans BEV and EREV powertrains on an 800V platform.
Xpeng (小鹏汽车, XPeng Inc.) is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer founded in 2014 and headquartered in Guangzhou. It is one of the country’s larger EV start-ups and has built its identity around in-house development of autonomous-driving software, processing chips, and electric powertrains rather than buying these systems from suppliers.
The company’s range covers most mainstream segments: the P-series sedans, the G-series SUVs, the X9 MPV, and more recently a push into extended-range powertrains alongside its battery-electric core. Models are built on Xpeng’s SEPA (Smart Electric Platform Architecture), now in its 3.0 generation with an 800V electrical system.
The GX is the brand’s flagship SUV - a six-seat, full-size model that, unusually, is offered in both battery-electric and extended-range forms on the same platform. Its launch drew exceptional demand in China, with tens of thousands of paid orders booked within hours of going on sale.
