Firefly is NIO Group’s small-car brand. It was launched on 19 April 2025 with a single model, the Firefly, a four-metre electric hatchback priced from 119,800 yuan (~$17,800) in China. It sits below NIO and ONVO in the group’s three-brand price ladder.
The cars share NIO’s battery-swap approach in China, where the 42.1 kWh pack can be exchanged at NIO stations or leased through the group’s battery-as-a-service plan. Firefly began European deliveries in August 2025, starting in Norway and the Netherlands, and does not offer the battery lease there.
In September 2026 the brand delivered a record 7,327 cars in a month, part of NIO Inc’s 109,178 deliveries for the third quarter.
