About

Zeekr was launched by Geely in March 2021 as the group’s premium electric brand, positioned above the core Geely marque and separate from Volvo and Polestar, which Geely Holding also controls. It is headquartered in Ningbo, in Zhejiang province, and its chief executive is An Conghui, who in August 2026 also became chairman of Geely Automobile.

Every Zeekr is built on SEA, the Sustainable Experience Architecture that Geely developed as a shared electric platform and that also underpins cars from Volvo, Polestar and Lynk & Co. The lineup runs from the compact X crossover through the 001 shooting brake, the 007 and 007 GT, the 7X SUV and the 009 MPV, with the 8X and 9X adding plug-in hybrid power at the top of the range. Zeekr delivered 224,133 cars in 2025.

Ownership has moved twice in quick succession. Zeekr bought 51% of Lynk & Co in February 2025, making it a subsidiary rather than a sibling, and in December 2025 Zeekr itself was taken private by Geely Automobile and delisted from the New York Stock Exchange after roughly 19 months as a listed company. The brand now sits inside Geely Auto alongside the Geely and Lynk & Co marques.

In China, Zeekr also runs its own fast-charging network through the Zeekr Power subsidiary. Europe has been treated as a core market rather than an export afterthought since 2023, when the first stores opened in Stockholm and Amsterdam. The brand now sells in around 13 European countries and runs its own stores rather than a franchised dealer network, with Italy, Spain and Portugal added during 2026.
