Overview

The third-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA switches the compact SUV to a full-electric lineup at launch, with hybrid versions to follow. The car grows 155 mm over its predecessor to 4,565 mm long, on a wheelbase stretched to 2,790 mm. It shares its cabin design language with the CLA, including 10.25 and 14.25-inch displays and an optional MBUX Superscreen spanning the dashboard.

Powertrains. Three electric variants launch together. The GLA 200 Electric drives the rear wheels with 224 hp, a 58 kWh battery, up to 447 km of WLTP range and charging up to 200 kW. The GLA 250+ Electric steps up to 272 hp and an 85 kWh battery for up to 657 km of range and 320 kW charging. The GLA 350 4MATIC Electric adds all-wheel drive and 354 hp, reaching 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds with up to 643 km of range. A fourth EV variant with a 71 kWh battery is planned to join the range in 2027.

Hybrids. Mercedes-Benz plans to expand the GLA with front- and all-wheel-drive hybrids pairing a 1.5-litre engine, a 30 hp electric motor and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, expected as the GLA 200 (193 hp) and GLA 220 (220 hp).

Availability. Orders are open in Europe now. A US launch is planned for the second half of 2027.
