Overview

The e.MAS 7 PHEV pairs Proton’s 4,740 mm electric SUV body with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated hybrid engine (99 hp, 125 Nm) and a plug-in battery, launched in Malaysia in February 2026. A traction motor adds 218 hp and 262 Nm at the wheels for a combined 262 hp system output, driving the front wheels through a single-speed transmission.

The Prime and Premium trims share an 18.4 kWh CATL LFP battery for 83 km of electric-only WLTP range and up to 943 km combined with the engine running, priced from RM109,800 and RM123,800 (about $26,800 and $30,300). The Premium Plus steps up to a 29.8 kWh Aegis Short Blade LFP pack, extending electric-only range to 146 km and combined range to 996 km, from RM129,800 (about $31,700) - Proton’s first 5,000 buyers get a RM4,000 rebate that lowers all three prices by that amount.

It is the plug-in counterpart to the pure-electric e.MAS 7, aimed at buyers who want the SUV’s electric-driving experience without depending entirely on charging infrastructure. Both cars share the same body and interior; the battery and the engine under the floor are what separates them.
