Land Cruiser 300 platform and positioning
The Land Cruiser 300 Series is the current generation of Toyota’s full-size Land Cruiser, unveiled on 9 June 2021 and on sale in Japan since 2 August that year. It is a body-on-frame SUV on Toyota’s GA-F platform, shared with the Lexus LX and the Toyota Tundra, and it came in about 200 kg lighter than the 200 Series it replaced. The smaller Land Cruiser FJ sits below it in the family.
Land Cruiser 300 powertrain
Engines vary by market. The 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel is the most widely sold, rated at 227 kW (309 PS) and 700 Nm in Japan. Some markets also get a 3.5-litre (3,444 cc) twin-turbo petrol V6 at 305 kW, or a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre V6 carried over from the previous generation. Every version drives all four wheels, and all but the 4.0 use a 10-speed automatic.
There is also a parallel hybrid. It puts a motor-generator and a nickel-metal hydride battery between the twin-turbo petrol V6 and the gearbox, so the engine still drives the wheels directly. It debuted in the United Arab Emirates, and from 1 October 2026 it replaces the petrol-only V6 in Japan, where the combined rating is 336 kW (457 PS) and 790 Nm.
Land Cruiser 300 price and trims
In Japan the diesel comes as GX, ZX and GR Sport, all with five seats, from 6,300,800 yen ($42,900). The hybrid is offered only as the ZX and GR Sport, both seven-seaters, from 9,801,000 yen ($66,700). The GX has electronic front and rear differential locks, 18-inch wheels and fabric seats. Toyota’s accessory brand Modellista sells an optional body kit for 546,700 yen ($3,700).
