Audi has revealed the production A2 e-tron and opens order books on 10 September, with first deliveries in December. The car was developed in Germany and is built at the company’s main plant in Ingolstadt, alongside the A3, the Q6 e-tron and the A6 e-tron. The reveal fills in the battery capacities, per-version ranges, charging speeds and cabin that were missing from the preliminary data Audi posted in August.
Four versions, three batteries
The range opens at 125 kW (170 PS, 168 hp) with a 52 kWh battery and up to 423 km WLTP. Above it sit 140 kW (190 PS, 188 hp) with 61 kWh and 515 km, and 170 kW (231 PS, 228 hp) with 84 kWh and 646 km, the longest range in the lineup. The 240 kW car (326 PS, 322 hp) makes 545 Nm, uses the same 84 kWh pack for 630 km and reaches 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
All four are rear-wheel drive. Audi’s pre-reveal listing described the lineup as front-wheel drive and gave a maximum of 649 km; the production specification is rear drive and 646 km.
Charging and energy transfer
The 52 and 61 kWh packs are lithium iron phosphate and take up to 100 and 105 kW on a DC charger. The 84 kWh pack is nickel-manganese-cobalt and takes up to 183 kW. A 10-80% charge is quoted at 24 to 29 minutes depending on the pack, and consumption runs from 12.8 to 14.2 kWh per 100 km across the range. Every version supports vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home, which means the car can power mains appliances directly from a socket in the vehicle, or feed a house circuit through a compatible wallbox rather than only drawing from it.
The cabin
Two screens: an 11.9-inch instrument display and a 12.8-inch touchscreen, with an Audi AI voice assistant. A head-up display, matrix LED headlights and a 14-speaker Sonos system are on the options list. Audi’s connected work function handles Outlook and Teams by voice, including reading messages aloud and joining a scheduled meeting from the car.
Prices and body size
German list prices run €38,200 (about $41,600) for the 125 kW car, €41,900 (about $45,600) for the 140 kW, €48,900 (about $53,300) for the 170 kW and €51,200 (about $55,800) for the 240 kW. The body is 4,320 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall on a 2,770 mm wheelbase, with 396 litres of boot space behind the rear seats and 1,336 litres with them folded.
