Denza opened pre-orders for the Z9S on August 3, 2026, a large electric sedan sold above the existing Z coupe/spider/racing line in BYD’s premium brand. Three trims share a 102.3 kWh second-generation Blade Battery but differ in motor layout and claimed CLTC range: the Flash Charging Premium and Flagship each use a single rear motor making 370 kW (503 hp) for 780 km and 920 km respectively, while the range-topping Flash Charging Performance switches to a tri-motor all-wheel-drive layout - a combined 890 kW (1,194 hp) - and Denza claims its most efficient configuration reaches 1,100 km on the same pack, 0-100 km/h in 2.68 seconds.
Denza is billing the 1,100 km figure as the longest CLTC range of any mass-produced electric car. CLTC is measured at lower average speeds than WLTP or EPA cycles, so the number will not translate directly once (or if) the car is homologated outside China; treat it as a claim from Denza rather than an independent test result until third-party figures exist.
All three trims share BYD’s Flash Charging hardware, rated at 10-70% in about 5 minutes and 10-97% in roughly 9 minutes. The car measures 5,090 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,490 mm tall on a 3,025 mm wheelbase, with a 4.75 m turning radius aided by rear-wheel steering, a 120-liter front trunk and a 470-liter rear trunk.
Pre-sale prices run ¥319,800 to ¥389,800 ($47,100 to $57,400). Denza has not announced a formal on-sale date.
