The Renault Grand Koleos is a mid-size SUV that Renault Korea built specifically for the Korean market, and its underpinnings are Chinese rather than French. It sits on Geely’s Compact Modular Architecture, the platform beneath the Geely Monjaro and Xingyue L, a legacy of Geely’s 34 percent stake in Renault Korea. Renault Korea drew its own exterior and interior around that shared structure, giving the car a frameless grille and styling distinct from its Chinese siblings. It measures 4,780 mm long on a 2,820 mm wheelbase, and it is built at Renault Korea’s Busan plant.
Two engines are offered. The E-Tech full hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre turbo engine with a 100 kW traction motor and a 60 kW starter-generator, drawing on a small 1.64 kWh battery for a combined 245 PS. Renault says the system runs on electric power for up to 75 percent of city driving, and it is front-wheel drive only. A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is offered alongside it, making 211 PS with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it is the engine that can be paired with all-wheel drive on the Iconic trim.
Inside, the cabin is built around Renault’s OpenR panoramic display, spanning three 12.3-inch screens across the instrument cluster, centre stack and passenger side, with a 10-speaker Bose sound system and 5 years of included 5G data. Trunk space is rated at 633 litres.
The Grand Koleos launched at the Busan International Motor Show in June 2024 and went on sale that September, with hybrid pricing starting from 37.77 million won. A 2027 model-year update arrived in September 2026, cutting the price of the popular hybrid Iconic trim by 450,000 won and adding a Satin Nocturne Blue paint option and a limited-run white Étoile Edition. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol model, a cheaper entry point added to the range, starts from 35.81 million won.
