The Tesla Model Y is a battery-electric mid-size SUV and one of the best-selling vehicles in the world. It was refreshed in 2025 under the internal name “Juniper”, which brought a restyled front and rear, slim LED light bars, and interior revisions. The standard car measures 4,790 mm long on a 2,890 mm wheelbase, and is built for China at Gigafactory Shanghai.
The Chinese lineup spans four versions. The rear-drive Model Y opens the range with 593 km of CLTC range. The Long Range RWD uses a 78.4 kWh ternary battery and a 225 kW rear motor for 821 km of CLTC range, 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.6 seconds, and the longest range in the family. The Long Range AWD adds a front motor and returns 750 km. At the top sits the six-seat Model Y L, a longer body measuring 4,976 mm with a 3,040 mm wheelbase, 340 kW combined output, a 4.5-second 0 to 100 km/h time, and 751 km of range.
All versions use Tesla’s software platform, over-the-air updates, and access to the Supercharger network. Charging peaks at 250 kW on DC for the higher trims.
Pricing starts from ¥263,500 (~$39,200) for the rear-drive version and rises to ¥339,000 (~$50,400) for the Model Y L.
