Xpeng Mona L03 platform and positioning
The Mona L03 is the second model from Mona, Xpeng’s value-focused sub-brand, and its first coupe-styled crossover. It launched in China on 16 July 2026 - with a global reveal held the same day in Munich - and slots a step above the Mona M03 liftback as a more affordable electrified SUV. Measuring 4,650 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall on a 2,850 mm wheelbase, it is a compact crossover, weighing between 1,855 and 1,942 kg depending on version. The car racked up 20,000 firm orders within seven minutes of launch pricing being announced.
Xpeng Mona L03 powertrain and range
Two electrified powertrains are offered across nine trims, all front-wheel drive with the same 245 hp (183 kW) electric motor; there is no all-wheel-drive option. The battery-electric (BEV) version uses a 56 or 69 kWh battery, with the larger pack rated at up to 650 km of CLTC range. The range-extender (EREV) pairs a 37.2 kWh battery - good for up to 325 km on electric power alone - with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that runs purely as a generator, charging the battery rather than driving the wheels, for up to 1,380 km of combined range.
Inside the Xpeng Mona L03
The styling is clean and aerodynamic: a smooth nose with T-shaped front lighting, active air flaps in the bumper, a single full-width tail light bar, a panoramic glass roof and frameless doors with semi-hidden handles, in place of the pop-out handles used on the M03. Inside, the L03 takes a minimalist approach, with a large central touchscreen and a head-up display standing in for a traditional instrument cluster on most trims, though higher trims add a small driver display as well.
Xpeng Mona L03 price and trims
Xpeng priced the L03 from ¥123,800 (~$18,400) for the entry BEV or EREV trim to ¥156,800 (~$23,300) for the range-topping 625 Ultra SE BEV, undercutting the ¥143,800 (~$21,400) pre-sale figure it had floated a month earlier by ¥20,000 (~$3,000). That positions it above the cheaper Mona M03 within the Mona range while still undercutting most of the segment’s five-seat electric crossovers.
