FAW-Volkswagen launched the ID.Aura T6 in China on 20 September 2026, a mid-size electric crossover and the first model in a new ID.Aura family, at prices ¥6,000 (~$900) below the pre-sale figures.
The T6 measures 4,811 mm long, 1,879 mm wide, and 1,648 mm tall on a 2,836 mm wheelbase, noticeably larger than the European-market ID.4. It rides on the China Electronic Architecture, an 800V platform Volkswagen co-developed with Xpeng, and shares its underpinnings with the larger ID.Unyx 08.
All four trims use the same single motor, 170 kW (228 hp) driving the front axle, with top speed limited to 180 km/h. The 540 Pro opens the range at ¥129,900 (~$19,300) with a 59.9 kWh battery for 540 km of CLTC range. The 660 Pro, 660 Max and 660 Ultra step up to a 77.5 kWh pack for 660 km, priced at ¥139,900 (~$20,800), ¥149,900 (~$22,300) and ¥166,900 (~$24,800) respectively.
The two higher trims, 660 Max and 660 Ultra, add an extended driver-assistance package with a roof-mounted lidar unit, co-developed with Coretronic and Horizon Robotics; the 540 Pro and 660 Pro do not get it. Volkswagen has confirmed a five-seat interior.
