Overview

The Xpeng G9L fills the gap between the standard G9 and the six-seat flagship GX, offered as a more compact and more affordable five-seat alternative with a 1,152-litre boot. Both cars share an 800V electrical architecture, though the GX is 145 mm longer overall while its wheelbase is only 15 mm longer than the G9L’s.

The G9L measures 5,120 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,782 mm tall, on a 3,100 mm wheelbase.

Four versions are offered at launch. The EREV lineup runs a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine purely as a generator, alongside a single rear motor rated at 286 hp in the rear-wheel-drive version, or two motors totalling 503 hp in the all-wheel-drive version. The battery-electric lineup drops the generator engine entirely: 367 hp for the rear-wheel-drive EV, 585 hp for the dual-motor all-wheel-drive EV. Xpeng has not disclosed battery capacity or range for either powertrain.

China sales are due to open before the end of 2026, with Xpeng planning to bring the G9L to export markets afterward.
