Xpeng Mona L05 platform and positioning
The Mona L05 is the third model in Xpeng’s Mona lineup, a five-seat mid-size SUV that sits above the compact Mona L03. Xpeng opened pre-sales in China on 15 October 2026 and launched the car on 29 October, in six variants across battery-electric and extended-range versions. The company says the Mona series has delivered more than 350,000 vehicles in the two years since it began.
The L05 measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall on a 2,940 mm wheelbase. The suspension is a MacPherson strut at the front and an independent multi-link setup at the rear, with adaptive dampers fitted as standard.
Xpeng Mona L05 powertrain and range
The five variants announced in pre-sales have one rear-wheel-drive motor of 183 kW (245 hp); the launch coverage gives no powertrain figures for the 560 Plus added later. The battery-electric version comes with a 58.2 kWh or a 71.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, rated at 535 and 635 km. The extended-range version has a 37.2 kWh battery and a 1.5-litre engine rated at 70 kW, for 310 km of electric range and 1,310 km combined. All range figures are on China’s CLTC cycle.

The cabin has a 17.3-inch central screen, a 26.8-inch windscreen head-up display and a second 17.3-inch screen for rear passengers. The front passenger seat has a one-touch zero-gravity mode. Luggage space is 702 litres in the boot, expandable to 1,913 litres, plus a 102-litre front trunk.
Xpeng Mona L05 design
The L05 follows Xpeng’s “Starship” design language, with an active grille shutter in the front bumper, frameless doors, floating mirrors, two-tone wheels and yellow brake calipers. A full-width “Star Ring” tail light carries over 300 laser-engraved LEDs.
