Ford's new Sinister package brings blacked-out ST badges, amber daytime running lights, and 21-inch gloss-black wheels to the 2027 Explorer ST for $1,695. It ships with any standard exterior color, not just black, and leaves the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6's 385 horsepower untouched.

The three Japanese makers are in final talks to standardize the electronic control units (ECUs) that run their next-generation hybrids and EVs. The shared modules would cover autonomous driving, infotainment and powertrain control, with cars expected from 2029-2030. The aim is to cut costs against Chinese rivals and Tesla.

Scout Motors, the Volkswagen Group subsidiary reviving the legendary International Harvester Scout name, has revealed the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup. Both are available in full electric or Harvester EREV form, start under $60,000, and are built in South Carolina from 2028.

Shown as the Avante at the Busan Motor Show, the new Elantra grows in every dimension and gains a sharply creased look. The second model from Xpeng's value Mona sub-brand is a coupe-styled crossover sitting above the M03 liftback. Geely has revealed the production Galaxy Cruiser 700, the first off-road SUV from its Galaxy sub-brand. The body-on-frame PHEV makes a combined 1,113 hp from a 2.0-litre turbo and three electric motors, with 350 km of CLTC electric range. China sales start by the end of 2026.

Li Auto has launched the second-generation L8 in China. It shares the flagship L9's 800V architecture and 571 hp EREV powertrain but is built strictly as a five-seater. A 72.7 kWh battery gives 430 km electric and 1,670 km combined on CLTC; 0-100 km/h takes 4.8 s. Prices run from ¥369,800 to ¥429,800.

Škoda has fully revealed the Peaq, its largest model and electric flagship. Built on VW's MEB platform, it offers three variants from 204 to 300 hp and up to 647 km WLTP. From €49,900 (~$54,000) in Germany.

Renault's updated Megane E-Tech Electric switches to a 67 kWh LFP battery for up to 500 km WLTP and faster 165 kW charging, behind a redesigned front end. From about €37,000 (~$40,000) in France.

Chevrolet has revealed the fifth-generation Silverado, a seven-trim lineup topped by the off-road ZR2 and luxury High Country. Engines carry over the 3.0L Duramax diesel and 2.7L TurboMax four, plus new 5.7 and 6.6-litre V8s. US sales start by the end of 2026; prices come later.

Geely has shown its new Galaxy TT in official photos - a sporty C-segment electric sedan on the GEA platform with an 800V architecture and a CATL battery. Rear-drive cars make 333 hp; the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version makes a combined 578 hp. Media reports cite battery options of 52.4 to 75.2 kWh and 540 to 725 km of range. Maserati facelifted the Grecale crossover alongside the GranTurismo and GranCabrio. The Giorgio-platform SUV grows 9 mm on a new bumper, gains the MCPURA shark-nose front, and adds a 390 hp Nettuno V6 to a range that spans a 48V mild-hybrid four-cylinder, the 530 hp Trofeo, and the 557 hp Folgore EV. Genesis has given its first look inside the Magma GT, the concept that previews a future flagship supercar for Hyundai Motor Group, and unveiled a separate GT3 racing concept. The reveal came at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Genesis made its Hypercar-class debut. A petrol V8 is confirmed; road versions are expected in about two years.

Bovensiepen Automobile, founded by the Bovensiepen brothers after Alpina passed to BMW control, has revealed its second model. The 05 GT reworks the BMW M5 Touring into an 800 hp / 1100 Nm plug-in hybrid with bodywork by Frank Stephenson, hitting 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. German prices start at €198,900 ($214,800), with up to 100 cars a year.

The Kicks went on sale in Japan on 18 June with a series-hybrid e-Power drivetrain instead of the naturally aspirated engine sold in the US. Prices start at 2,999,700 yen (about $18,600), rising to 4,248,200 yen (about $26,350) for the top version.
