Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and Apple's main assembly partner, had planned to pitch US automakers on building its Model C electric crossover, sold in Taiwan as the Luxgen n7, as a Tesla Model Y rival. The plan is paused over new import tariffs, the end of federal EV tax credits, and a slowing US EV market.

Geely has unveiled the Thunder 16-in-1 Intelligent E-Drive, a compact electric drive unit that folds 12 hardware components and 4 control systems into one module. The company says it reaches 93.8% efficiency, among the best figures for a production e-drive, while cutting part count by more than 180 and bringing unit weight down to 75 kg. The unit has already debuted on the Geely Galaxy TT Ultra.

Honda has confirmed the Prologue is leaving the US market, with sales continuing into early 2027 as dealers sell through remaining stock. The Prologue launched in 2024, sold more than 80,000 units and became Honda's best-selling EV, but it is built on GM's Ultium platform under a joint program that has since ended, and US demand fell nearly 50% after the federal EV tax credit was removed.

A senior Mercedes-AMG executive told German outlet Manager Magazin the electric AMG GT 4-Door "should never have happened" and was nearly cancelled after the EQS and EQE SUV lineup cost the company roughly 5 billion euros (about $5.4 billion) and AMG's own EV push passed $1 billion, but the car will still launch as the first model on the AMG.EA platform.

Land Rover previewed the Range Rover GT, a fifth family member and the brand's first battery-electric Range Rover, on the new EMA platform with a lower, coupe-like body. Outlets that got early access describe a single 13in touchscreen, a semi-translucent console with wireless chargers, and 800V fast charging, though Land Rover itself has confirmed no numbers yet. smart is preparing to reveal the #2, its first compact two-seat city EV in years and spiritual successor to the ForTwo, on a new Geely- developed ECA platform with the same 6.95-meter turning circle. MG showed the MG GO! concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a preview of the production MG2 electric hatchback due in Europe around the middle of 2027. It is expected to become MG's cheapest EV, positioned against the Renault 5 and Citroen e-C3.
